The Luminous Body
After seeing the old priest of Mexico and my grandad in Canada, I realise that there is a body consisting of golden luminosity and the feeling from it a very high one. The first time is saw the luminous body I was meditating, breathing exercises that help release old blocked energy, it’s based on the recapitulation but I’ve adapted it to my evolving needs. I’m shot into a super golden world, it’s all golden so much so that I can’t see anything else. In a non verbal question I

Grandads note
My paternal grandad died when I was young, I was a teenager and it was the first time I dealt with death and dying. I realised that people are generally really bad at dealing with death so I decided to make my own mind up about it all. In the subsequent years I apparently inherited the family lineage gift, being a psychopomp. Rather than being the one who helps and guides I was more the observer seeing the transition of life to more life, the afterlife. I’m walking in Ealing

Oversoul Dreaming
I wake up in the morning but am still dreaming. I see a mass of unrecognisable distortion, not too dissimilar to the fuzzy blank screen you used to get on tv when the channel stopped broadcasting. It becomes more diffuse, less condensed and begins to spread out. I don’t recognise anything but feel like something will happen. As the field of view gets bigger it starts to make sense, it’s 7 dreams at the same time and they were all overlaid but are now separating. 4 dreams seem

Merilyn Tunneshende
1999 I’ve spent a few days with Merilyn on a course, a shamanic course attuned to old school practices and dreaming techniques. She is one of the most energetic, skilful and experienced dreamers I have ever met, maybe the best ever. I have a wonderful respect for her, she’s amazing and the course was a fantastic one, I left feeling high from the work. I was sleeping in a hammock at home because I wanted to know if it was true that sleeping in a hammock increases your dreaming

Priests of ancient Mexico
I’m in Mexico at a cabana hotel just outside of the town centre, more towards the pyramids in rural junglesque surroundings. I’m with a friend and she has in her hands 4 large Cubensis psychedelic mushrooms we bought a few hours earlier outside a hotel, in the front car park. We prepare for our trip, we’ve been on a shamanic retreat so use what we’ve learnt. We attune to our intent and place it symbolically in the four corners the four directions, mine has my ancestors each w

Aliens in the desert part 2
Part of the shamanic retreat involves collecting peyote cactus, a psychedelic alkaline flat cactus that when ingested produces other worldly visions that the Huichol Indians or Wirrarrika people as they call themselves have used for millennia. We leave the compound and start hiking in to the desert, if you kept walking and had no water your life would be in danger as there is nothing and no one around for miles. After about 3-4 miles of walking we enter the area that has peyo

Aliens in the desert
I arrive in the Sonoran desert at the beginning of November, apparently one of the coolest months but I’m not feeling it. It’s roasting hot, a genuine desert with occasional clouds and clear skies. The heat starts early and builds throughout the day, the afternoon sun is one you don’t stand in for long. As we arrive at the closest village, a village made of adobe mud bricks and one sandy road running its full length, we begin our trek to camp 3 miles away. The desert is barre

Timelessness at a Christmas Pantomime
I’m invited to a pantomime for charity, that’s to say all the money generated through ticket sales go to a deserving charity. My work colleague and friend is performing so I am asked to come along for the sake of doing a good deed but I agree more to support her endeavours and admirable spirit. The event is held in a community hall with approximately 130 people in attendance, sitting in rows facing the stage. The curtains open and the performance begins with 5 people on stage

A Tramp in Corfu
We are walking across a pedestrian square on a lovely day in Corfu town. There are shops lined up facing the pedestrian path, a path wide enough to have restaurants tables and chairs with plenty of room left over for people to pass each other. At one end is a junction and in the part that tees off the walkway, restaurants keep their commercial bins ready to be filled with the days business waste. As I look over a man catches my eye, a tall man rummaging in the bins, his left

100 days of Darkness
Back in 2014/15 I spent 100 days meditating in darkness and one of the experiences that springs to my mind was whilst I was walking very slow, mindful walking. Each step would take around 20seconds pause, wait, balance and then step again. 4 steps would lead to a turn and then carry on facing the other way. It’s a perfect exercise for a darkness retreat because you only need 2m in front of you so you’re safe from knocking into unseen objects. I did this for somewhere around 4
